CHARACTER NAMERydia (of Mist)
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONRydia is a young woman, at the age of twenty four, whom stands roughly five foot five inches without her heels on. She appears to have a light peach complexion, making her appear healthy, without any form of blemishes. Being still in her early twenties, the summoner’s face is still somewhat childish and she can be still mistake for a few years younger. Her eyes are almond shape and her irises are the color of umber and appear to hold quite a bit of wisdom despite her age. Contrasting against her umber eyes is her luscious, mint color, hair that cascades to the end of her shoulder blades.
Dawning on her head is a piece that resembles a half-crown, created with a mix of silver with ruby gems. Rydia wears a one piece suit (appearing to be divided into two layers still), which is an emerald green, assorted with various gems, that cuts low upon her chest and is long sleeved. The said sleeves appear to be torn on top and farther down have golden stars. A skirt covers to her mid thighs and trails down to her stockings (which are green as well). To wrap up her attire, Rydia wears two inch, brown in color, heels.
CHARACTER PERSONALITYMany will come to notice Rydia has long matured from her days when she cried like a baby. She holds wisdom beyond her years, which comes to aid when it comes to giving advice to those around her. Due to her gentle nature, Rydia comes off as forgiving: this mainly displayed after deciding to bond with Cecil and Kain who brought destruction to her village. Despite being a forgiven woman, Rydia does take time to get over past wounds. She can give you the cold shoulder with ease, because of her being guided by her emotions often. She is not afraid to be assertive when she needs to be, and is often putting Edge in his place with sarcasm.
Being a summoner Rydia is very fond of her village and Eidolons to the point she’ll plead over making people stop from harming the said creatures. She is able to communicate extremely well with the Eidolons, which is something she should take pride in, and is quite determined to rebuild the Mist due to this passion. Rydia could even be determined as motherly since she took in the young Maenad and naming her Cuore. Since Cuore, Rydia has become a teacher when it comes to summoner ways and will gladly take on other pupils.
CHARACTER HISTORYRydia is a woman originally from Mist and one of last remaining pure-blood summoners too boot. Her mother was known to use her summon, the Mist Dragon, to protect the village, but is killed one day when Kain and Cecil fight (and defeat) the creature; Rydia loses her mother due to this action. To add salt to the wounds, the two unsuspecting men deliver a ring which is filled with bombs the set fire to the village. Overhearing that the two new comers were the reason behind her mother’s death, Rydia becomes outraged and summons Titan, which creates an earthquake and causes a landslide to separate Cecil and Kain – Cecil still with Rydia.
After seeing Cecil refusing soldiers of Baron to have her eliminated – her race declared as a threat – Rydia begins to trust the Dark Knight. Shortly afterward they discover Rosa is ill with Desert Fever, also in Kaipo, and the party of two is determined to find the cure. Along their way to retrieve the Sand Pearl, the cure for Rosa’s Desert Fever, they come across the Sage Tellah. With his help, the party is able to reach Damcyan just as it is being attacked by the Red Wings. Shortly afterward the group discovers Edward, the prince of Damcyan. After a quick snap-into-reality by Rydia telling him not to cry, Edward soon agrees to aid them with the situation they’re friend was in. With a lot of pointless battling later, and then the Antlion fight itself, the group soon returns and cures Rosa.
Next destination is Fabul, however the group needs to get past a Mt. Hobs and the path is blocked by ice. With encouragement from Rosa and Edward, Rydia over comes her fear of fire and fire spells; thus melting the ice and meet Yang along the way. During the siege on Fabul, Rydia and Rosa aid healers until the others are cornered in the Wind Crystal Chamber, which Rosa gets abducted and leaving Rydia to heal the party. During their attempt to sail to Baron, Leviathan attacks the ship and Rydia is separated from the group.
Later it’s revealed that Rydia was taken to Feymarch, the home of all the Eidolons, and under Leviathan’s watch she becomes skilled in her summoning skills. She ages faster in Feymarch, the summoner soon loses the ability to cast white magic but hones her black magic to perfection. With the words of Golbez’s threat on the world by the Queen of the Eidolons, Asura, Rydia returns to help aid in their mission and eventually defeat the true threat.
She returns in time to save Cecil from Golbez’s final blow. This act allows her to continue traveling with the group, and even takes part against the final battle against Zeromus. A year later Cecil and Rosa have a son, Ceodore, and Rydia greets him into the world. She then returns to Mist and begins to rebuild the village, with the help from Edge and co. Eventually, Mist has been restored and populated once again.
By this point Rydia is not allowed to return to Feymarch, by the Queen’s wishes herself, so the summoner takes on the task of rebuilding the Mist (with the help of Cecil, Edward, Edge, and even Yang). She even goes as far as putting a tombstone in memory of her mother whom defended the village for so long. One day she still ventures into Feymarch and is taken back at the sight of the petrified Eidolons. Returning back Rydia gets word of a Dark Crystal being stolen and then goes off to protect the other crystals; only to come in contact with a mysterious girl that defeats them easily with the use of Titan.
Later, after Rydia reclaiming her summons and breaking a barrier around Baron’s Castle (thus freeing the other party members and Eidolons from mind control), she returns to Mist and discovers the villagers (with the aid of having a fraction of her power) kept the Mist Dragon from mind control. From there she swears never to abandon all of them. Later they discover whom they were against were really Maenads, created by the true threat titled the Creator, and ultimately in the end the Maenads sacrifice themselves to defeat the said threat.
However, the Maenads left behind a child of their kind – which Rydia soon took in, gave her the name of Cuore, and began training her as a summoner.

"Hello there. You've just arrived in the Distorted World. Why don't you tell me your name, and the first thought going through your head right now?"“Hello,” she gives a warm smile. “I’m Rydia, pleased to meet you!” Silence falls before the summoner whispers. “I’m worried, honestly, I don’t know where everyone’s at and Cuore shouldn’t be left alone.”
"That's certainly interesting... forgive me if I don't know what to say to that. So tell me, where are you from?"Her lashes flutter in confusion, but she answers. "I’m from Mist. Feymarch is just as much as my home.”
(Rydia from Final Fantasy IV: The After Years)
"Can't say I've ever heard of it. Well, tell me about yourself. What do you do? What are some of your likes and dislikes?""It’s sad you don’t know Mist, you love it if you’d visit." She gives another smile and is finally relaxing into the conversation. Kneeling down she takes a seat on the grass, inhaling the scent. “You’re full of questions, aren’t you?” With a light laugh, she playfully pulls the child in her lap. “Well, alright, I’ll play your game! I like my friends, Eidolons included, peaceful days, various flowers, the sound of a harp, and teaching Cuore. I’m not happy with: people who attack others for no reason, bitter food, cold nights, being lost or getting lost, and the smell of alcohol.”
"Ah, that's amazing! And not only do we have some things in common, you're quite the looker, too, aren't you?""Oh hush!” Still she giggles at the child’s bold move; her face flushed from the action. “Thanks for the compliment but, you’re a little young for me..!”
"There's no need to be shy. They always say, if you've got it, flaunt it, right? Anyway, enough about that. Who are you allied with?"She playfully flicks the kid’s forehead. "I said hush future Edge!” When she’s finally able to breathe she replies. “I’ll know when the time comes.”
(Survivor)
"I'm sure you have your reasons... Oh, on another note, how tall are you?"She pauses briefly. "I’m five foot five without my heels, but I’m five seven with them."
(5’5” naturally; 5’7” with heels)
"Drat! Just four inches too tall. Although... hmm, would you mind if I asked you on a date? Don't worry, I'll buy.""Maybe in a few years you’ll catch up to me!” Suddenly the child jumps from her lap, turns, and purposes the date. She fails to contain her laughter. “Aren’t you a confident one? You’re going to be a ladies’ man someday!”
"Finding a venue might be a bit difficult, anyway, since I have no idea where we are... tell me where this is, again?""Alexandria.” Once she regains her composure, Rydia becomes serious for a moment. Her eyes slowly trail up toward the castle and she gives an almost knowing smile. “Somehow, I believe I was meant to come here.”
"Ah, how could I forget? I'd love to vacation here someday, when it's not so foggy... It's scenic, you know?"She stares at the castle glistening in the morning light before giving a light nod. “Yes.” Her gaze falls to the youngster. “You’ve got quite the vocabulary too!”
"Well, thank you for the lovely conversation! I'm afraid I'll have to be leaving you, though, since I'm going to explode in about three seconds anyway. Buh-bye now!"She tenses before extending her arm to grasp the child’s arm lightly. "Explode? Messing with that kind of magic you don’t understand is dang—" The boy escapes and continues to dart off. With a sigh and a shake of her head, Rydia gives in.

RP SAMPLE(Oh lord, this post is soooo old. Wish I had a better, more recent one now!)
Lindblum was busy as ever in the business district with the never ending wave of figures. Darting around the various forms, while swiping loose gil, a small blonde continue his way through the crowd. Snickering at his success, the thief would shove his rewards into his own pockets. Sure, Zidane was meant to be retrieving something rather important but, hey!, he was allowed to have some fun on the way. Right? Right.
Rounding a corner gave the thief a plain view of his destination: the item shop. Zidane’s smirk grew wide with each stride he took, knowing full well he’d be the first in Tantalus to reach it. Yes all the members took a bet on who could reach the shop first, in order to retrieve some potions to help treat Cinna’s latest injuries. Yet, for once, Baku wasn’t the one to inflict those said wounds on Cinna. In fact the short man, with the love for his hammer, got quite a headshot during their last performance. Apparently he had been caught in the act of stealing, and by which the victim struck him. Struck him with what? Oh, yeah, Cinna had mentioned a rather long, golden, staff. Ouch.
Too bad Blank, Marcus, and the rest of Tantalus began laughing their heads off at Cinna. C’mon! Who would expect someone to get ‘flicked’ with a staff of all things? Sure, Cinna was quite infuriated for awhile at the group but – hey! – they sat down long enough to begin treatments on him. Though Baku wasn’t pleased in the end, at least he was about one last treatment before getting back to his feet. Maybe. For all Zidane knew that flick to the forehead may have caused brain damage. Like Cinna needed less of that…
Shoving the door open the thief entered the shop with grace. The woman whom tended the shop turned to greet him, only to fall into an unimpressed expression. Her light curls hung lose against her sharp cheeks before she spoke. “For the thousandth time, Zidane, I am not going out with you.”
A laugh escaped his lips. ”Aw, too bad, but not why I’m here though.” With an arch of her brow, Zidane spoke up. ”Gotta pick up more potions; that hardhead Cinna ran into someone’s staff the other night.” Once more the shopkeeper looked bewildered, but needless to say she shrugged it off before turning to get the number he wanted. After paying with the stolen currency Zidane turned on his heels and darted off.
Rounding the corner once more, this time in the opposite direction, Zidane nearly wanted to crack someone. Reasoning? There next to the dreaded pickle stand, sitting down and enjoying Gysahl pickles, was Marcus and Blank; Baku standing next to them. The fur on Zidane’s tail bristled at the sight as the gypsy felt a wave of anger through his body. Had theytricked him into doing all the work?! Judging by their expressions while he continued to run by; yes.
Irritated at the sight almost caused Zidane to forget about even completing the mission. Raising his hand above his head, the gypsy almost threw down the bottles containing the green liquid, but stopped in his actions. Lowering his hands he focused on the bottles and knew he couldn’t leave Cinna to suffer longer than what he had too. Falling silent the monkey boy forgot all his anger as he continued, in a faster pace, toward the air cabs.
”Yo! Cinna! I got the stuff you want—“ He instantly came to a grinding halt as his eyes fell on a figure; a feminine figure. She had long, shiny, chocolate brown hair with a soft complexion to boot. As if her petite form wasn’t enough to make Zidane believe she was a pretty girl, she had to turn around. His heart fluttered for a moment, taking in her childlike face with large, warm, chocolate eyes. Zidane stood baffled at her before minutes later his lips curled into a wide smile.
”I didn’t think Boss wanted me to date!” A warm laugh came as Zidane approached the girl.”Didn’t know he had good tastes with looks either!”
Within an arm length away from her Zidane let his eyes swept her form up and down; the tip of his tail curling with the thought of having fun. ”So, what brings a pretty girl like you to Tantalus?”
At that moment a groan would erupt from the upper floor; with a complaint that Zidane needed to stop his failure at flirting. Zidane’s tail twitched in frustration as he hollered out.”I’m workin’ here Cinna! She maybe a new member and with you whining like that it’ll scare her away!” Another grumble came and Zidane would shoot a heated glare toward the upper floor. ”Don’t make me come up there!”
Silence before the blonde spoke. ”Alright, pretty, whatcha need?”
