CHARACTER NAMEFayt Leingod.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION"No -- I see now. It is all because of me. Everything..."
Standing at five feet and nine inches, the blue-haired, green-eyed teenager isn't that unusual of a sight. On his home planet of Terra (a futuristic Earth), plenty of normally unusual "natural" hair colors have arisen; in fact, it's one of the most common traits to be altered. Fayt is possessing of a wiry, compact build that shows the marks of plenty of physical training; from a young age, he had been fond of both fighting simulations and basketball, and has the physique to excel at those activities. His face is somewhat round, still having a bit of a childish "baby fat" look to it, though there is a certain characteristic of the way his eyebrows crease when he is frustrated that confesses a deep resolve.
Typically he wears sleeveless shirts or tee-shirts and shorts in his leisure time, though he has grown to favor the Elicoorian brawler armor gifted to him by a friend. It consists of a sleeveless and high-collared white over-jacket with dark seams and a large zipper, an underlying sleeveless turtleneck, padded shoulder armor, and a brown elbow-guard on his right arm. At his waist is belted a white double-sash with dark edges, which also holds the sheath of his sword horizontally at the small of his back. Below this hangs an aqua-colored cloth coupled with two belts, and below this is a pair of dark trousers, covered mostly by blue interlocking plate armor with yellow accents. His shoes are likewise armored, as are his gloves, which sport two wrist-straps each.
CHARACTER PERSONALITY"Sometimes, you're the only one who can make a difference."
Fayt is a friendly and idealistic young man that holds his friends and family in high regard. Past hardships have transformed him from an academic slacker into a dependable guy that would sacrifice anything for a cause he really believes in. He has the strange ability to make friends with just about everyone he meets. Though he trusts his friends completely, it is for this reason that he is prone to keeping a few secrets from them, especially if he feels that the knowledge would hurt them somehow. Due to this fact, he does tend to shoulder problems by himself, without asking for help.
While optimistic and outgoing, Fayt does sometimes fall into introverted, pessimistic, and somewhat self-deprecating moods from time to time. These began with the death of his father and Fayt's learning of just what Robert Leingod's research entailed. He has found it difficult to reconcile those facts and that side of himself with his own psyche, and seems to be in somewhat of a state of denial concerning the exact ramifications of his ability; this denial is sure to be a problem in the future.
CHARACTER HISTORY"Why do they want me enough to kill so many innocent people? Who- Who the hell am I?"
Beginning as a physically talented but academically lazy and underachieving schoolboy, Fayt was once no different than any other "jock" on Earth - aside from being born seven and a half centuries after faster-than-light speed travel was achieved. The only son of famous Symbological Genetics expert, Robert Leingod, and his wife Ryoko, he was raised together with both parents in the Terran administrative district of Japan.
Fayt grew up alongside a young woman named Sophia, two years younger than him and the daughter of a couple that worked as Robert's colleagues. She was his younger sister figure in their teenage years, and even took to calling Fayt's parents "Uncle Robert" and "Aunt Ryoko".
While attending Bachtein Science University for Symbological Genetics in his father's footsteps, notably, Fayt won an award for his performance at the Universal Basketball competition. He played for BSU's basketball team as the star point guard, but underperformed in the academics category. Thus, it was not surprising that he would ignore the mound of schoolwork to be done while he, Sophia, and his parents were on vacation on Hyda IV (a popular resort planet), and instead play fighting simulations all day (a not-so-secret interest of his).
Hyda IV is attacked while he and Sophia are playing one such simulator, and thus begins Fayt's world-saving adventure. Separated from his parents and Sophia during the subsequent evacuation, he finds himself stranded on the underdeveloped planet of Vanguard III. While breaking Federation laws left and right concerning the protection of underdeveloped planets, a mysterious man calling himself Cliff Fittir "rescues" him from Vanguard, though he reveals he is a member of the anti-Federation group called Quark, and is in fact technically kidnapping Fayt.
Together with Cliff and his partner, Mirage Koas, Fayt is again stranded on another underdeveloped planet, Elicoor II. Their stay here is much longer, as they end up accidentally involved in a war between two large military powers. During this war, a hidden and dormant ability of Fayt's manifests...
Somehow, he accidentally summons enough power to delete an entire alien spaceship from existence.
Knocked unconscious by his manifestation, Fayt doesn't wake for a week. Soon after, the truth is told to him by the leader of Quark - that he had been genetically altered before birth to possess the Symbological element of Destruction... by none other than his father. The reason so many innocent people had died was because an alien race known as the Vendeeni (the race responsible for Hyda IV's destruction) had coveted that power. Maria, the young woman gifted with the power of Alteration through the same experiment, and the current leader of Quark, sought to abduct Robert Leingod from the possession of the Vendeeni in order to interrogate him herself, and to make him answer for his crimes. Fayt joins her in order to free his father and ask him himself.
Robert (and Sophia, also in captivity) are freed, but Robert dies in the ensuing conflict. While grieving, Fayt and the others decide to travel to Moonbase, the location of Dr. Leingod's laboratories, in order to learn for themselves exactly what happened nineteen years ago. There, the discovery is made.
Sophia, too, had been altered - with the ability of Connection. Together, the three of them were created to combat mysterious enemies known as "4D beings". They traveled to the planet of Styx, the place where the project had been conceived, and there were able to travel to the 4D World...
learning that their world as they know it is, in fact, a complex program written by the Sphere Company called the Eternal Sphere. Confronted with this chilling explanation, that they were all just "collections of 0s and 1s", the group travels to this Sphere Company to prevent the deletion of their world. They are able to fight and defeat Luther after returning to the Eternal Sphere and making their way through several safety measures and firewalls, but the deletion algorithm had already been initiated with them inside...
Resolving to believe that they exist in the here and now, Fayt and the others dare to hope that their extrahuman abilities will see them through.
He awakes in the Distorted World, unsure what that hope has wrought...

"Hello there. You've just arrived in the Distorted World. Why don't you tell me your name, and the first thought going through your head right now?""How...?" He appears disoriented, but answers the question tentatively. "The Distorted World? Weird name for a planet... what sector is this? - Oh, I'm Fayt. Fayt Leingod."
"That's certainly interesting... forgive me if I don't know what to say to that. So tell me, where are you from?""Uh, well..." "This is probably an underdeveloped planet, so I ought to keep my answers vague... the law about no contact has already been shot to hell anyway." "I'm from a place called Earth. It's a pretty far ways away."
"Can't say I've ever heard of it. Well, tell me about yourself. What do you do? What are some of your likes and dislikes?""Yep, definitely an underdeveloped planet." "I'm, uh..." He seems uncertain as to how to respond. "I'm an engineer, let's go with that. I used to be a college student, but things happened, and... yeah." He rubs the back of his head sheepishly. "Likes and dislikes? Huh. Well. I like videogames, my friends, and fighting. Basketball too. I'm not a fan of being out of the loop, though, or breaking promises, or people that are violent for no good reason."
"Ah, that's amazing! And not only do we have some things in common, you're quite the looker, too, aren't you?""I... guess?" Fayt blinks.
"There's no need to be shy. They always say, if you've got it, flaunt it, right? Anyway, enough about that. Who are you allied with?""Uh, what?" [ VAULT HUNTER ]
"I'm sure you have your reasons... Oh, on another note, how tall are you?""Five feet and around ten inches... or one meter, seventy-seven centimeters in Standard. Why?"
"Drat! Just four inches too tall. Although... hmm, would you mind if I asked you on a date? Don't worry, I'll buy.""What? I - uh - okay?"
"Finding a venue might be a bit difficult, anyway, since I have no idea where we are... tell me where this is, again?""... some forest? I'm not really sure." [ THE SUNLETH WATERSCAPE ]
"Ah, how could I forget? I'd love to vacation here someday, when it's not so foggy... It's scenic, you know?""Yeah, I guess." "Reminds me of Elicoor II, actually... huh..."
"Well, thank you for the lovely conversation! I'm afraid I'll have to be leaving you, though, since I'm going to explode in about three seconds anyway. Buh-bye now!""Uhhh..." He backs away. "What's going on? Everything went weird after we beat Luther..."

RP SAMPLEThe woman he had passed sputtered and nearly lost her footing with his sudden appearance; hiding a self-satisfied smirk in the corner of his visage, he glanced back with a single cobalt eye, pointedly apathetic. When she regained herself enough to charge after him, though, a flicker of surprise danced at the forefront of his mind. What on earth?
She caught up with his somewhat hurried pace in moments, hacking her way through lingering branches and growled confusion in lashing-out inquiries. Mostly ignoring the presence of his impromptu companion, Klaus did however take an instant to observe her unusual blades - two swords almost resembling antiquated sawblades, at least to him, currently being used as makeshift machetes - and her strange attire, once again. The climate might be humid, but to leave so much skin uncovered was extremely impractical; he was hardly impressed.
He took the complete lead again, and mostly let her angered words flow past him, as if cigarette smoke. But when the woman - no, girl - began to thump her way through the grove as if Ifrit sent to wreak havoc on the world, that was when he put his proverbial foot down.
"Would you please stop acting like a petulant child," he didn't quite ask so much as demand, whirling around on one heel to address her with a firmness to the line of his lips. "They're researching something or other in these ruins, I don't really care. And who I am isn't any of your business, so play nice or move the hell along."
Pausing a moment to let the statement sink in, his gaze sharpened even more if that were possible, he turned around again when he was satisfied that she had understood his point and began to walk again.
"If you can fight, and do a damn good job of it, then tag along if you like," he relented somewhat. "If not, do us both a favor and fuck off."
