CHARACTER NAMEQueen Garnet Til Alexandros XVII/ Dagger
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONThe queen of Alexandria is a beautiful, fair skinned young woman with black hair reaching her shoulders that she keeps neatly trimmed. As a queen, she wears elegant clothes fitting of royalty in a variety of bright colors, her most common being plain white and red. Queen Garnet is seen as a symbol of Alexandria's ability to survive; she suffered through the same things the citizens did and even helped to better the world in large ways. Since she saved the world with Zidane and her friends (and Steiner) she has been seen more often with a sword at her side and light pieces of armor even on her royal gowns, and on breezy days it's apparent that she wears a much more casual outfit beneath her formal robes. Notably, she holds herself with an air of confidence after her experiences.
CHARACTER PERSONALITYQueen Garnet has grown quite a bit from the almost fragile girl who asked a rogue Genome to kidnap her. The lack of confidence and self-depreciation she had before are completely gone, replaced by a strong resolve and enough confidence to inspire even the usually inept other members of the Knights of Pluto. She has also mastered both speaking formally and speaking casually, combining with her experiences to make her a very down to earth figure.
While she is a queen, Garnet is surprisingly light hearted and relaxed in her management style, though firm and demanding where it needs to be. In fact, she is much more well known for her kindness and compassion than for anything bad, and is an even more beloved figure than her mother had been before her corruption... though she is quite cunning when she feels the need to be. An important new aspect of her personality is her newfound love for adventure and her independence to do so. She loves being able to slip away from the castle for a day or two to hunt monsters with the Knights or to practice her swordsmanship with Beatrix, and her new skills have proven very useful on several occasions.
When not at the castle, Garnet will sometimes disguise herself and go by her nickname Dagger. Generally she speaks casually while in her pseudo-alter ego, and while still compassionate and willing to help most she comes across makes a point of closing herself off more than usual, which has the negative effect of allowing her regal air to flow. While her confidence may seem greater than what is warranted, she's well aware of her skills and her limits.
CHARACTER HISTORYWhen Queen Garnet returned from the alternate world of Terra and her friends went their separate ways, she was faced with the challenge of rebuilding Alexandria after Kuja's attacks. She took her place as queen of Alexandria and, without much delay save a day or two to recover from her injuries, she set about the momentous task of restoring the city. Through the help of Lindblum and her eidolons, Alexandria and Lindblum were at least partially restored to their former grandeur in less than a year. During this time, feeling recovered enough to do so, she requested Beatrix's assistance in training in the art of swordsmanship. Between politics, rebuilding and training the young queen had a busy year, but she quickly proved herself to be a much stronger leader than anyone could have expected so quickly after the rapid tragedies of the previous year.
On her seventeenth birthday, the Talantus Theater Troupe made a second attempt to perform I Want To Be Your Canary for her. This time, nothing went horribly awry as they had last year, and the performance was enjoyable even if the memories of that fateful day just brought back pain she'd attempted to bury with Zidane's apparent death. One can only imagine her surprise when the genome himself appeared on stage. After her surge of joy at his having been alive had passed, the queen promptly slapped him in payment for not returning sooner. She was happy regardless, and after about a week of being settled and wrapping up the repairs she announced that Zidane would be staying in the castle now that it was completed, and that all of her old friends (and Steiner) had a place should they wish to live in Alexandria.
In the weeks since, Alexandria also opened its brand new airship ports, which promptly disappeared one morning when the worlds fused. After a few public announcements about the situation, Garnet vanished in to thin air one evening, though the castle guard and Beatrix have tried to keep this quiet. The young Queen was itching to explore something she hadn't seen, and suddenly new cities appeared on the horizon. With a simple note left behind by Garnet Til Alexandros XVII, she set off to do a little exploring in the new world...

"Hello there. You've just arrived in the Distorted World. Why don't you tell me your name, and the first thought going through your head right now?""It is a pleasure to meet you sir, I am Queen Garnet Til Alexandros the seventeenth... but please, call me Garnet."
"That's certainly interesting... forgive me if I don't know what to say to that. So tell me, where are you from?""Alexandria, of course... although it is not my birth home. My birth home is Madain Sari."
"Can't say I've ever heard of it. Well, tell me about yourself. What do you do? What are some of your likes and dislikes?""I'm a summoner and a white mage, but recently I've taken up the art of swordsmanship. General Beatrix says I'm a natural. I enjoy a lot of things; plays, music, seeing new sights, fighting for the things I believe in, I even enjoy dressing up in those ridiculous outfits nowadays. As for dislikes... and I apologize in advance for my lack of eloquence... I can't stand petty thieves, blowhards and people who don't have anything better to do than pick on those weaker than themselves. I also despise that monster that calls himself Kuja for what he did. If he survives, he had best pray daily that he comes across me while I'm in a good mood..." Garnet clears her throat and adjusts her dress with a sheepish smile. "Again... I apologize."
"Ah, that's amazing! And not only do we have some things in common, you're quite the looker, too, aren't you?""Oh, you're too kind! It's all the wonderful clothes, they really are gorgeous."
"There's no need to be shy. They always say, if you've got it, flaunt it, right? Anyway, enough about that. Who are you allied with?""Ah... My, uh, main interest is in Alexandria and her people. But I'm more than happy to help anyone who needs my assistance... so long as I can give it, anyways. <Soldier of Light>"
"I'm sure you have your reasons... Oh, on another note, how tall are you?""Aha... this is embarrassing... I'm five feet and three inches. Short, I know..."
"Drat! Just four inches too tall. Although... hmm, would you mind if I asked you on a date? Don't worry, I'll buy."Garnet raises an eyebrow. "You realize I may as well be engaged... right?""
"Finding a venue might be a bit difficult, anyway, since I have no idea where we are... tell me where this is, again?""Alexandria, my home. We've just finished restoration of the town; I highly recommend heading to Ruby's theater studio. Her performances are quite good, though they could use a bit of ironing out..."
"Ah, how could I forget? I'd love to vacation here someday, when it's not so foggy... It's scenic, you know?""Yes, it does get foggy this time of year. It's unfortunate really; the castle against the sunrise is truly a sight to behold.""
"Well, thank you for the lovely conversation! I'm afraid I'll have to be leaving you, though, since I'm going to explode in about three seconds anyway. Buh-bye now!""P-pardon?!"

RP SAMPLEThe red-tinted vision of her combat mode faded gradually, small text scrolling up the side of her vision. Reboot codes, the usual report of errors plaguing her systems. It was the usual case when re-awakening; as a precautionary measure, she had set her default operating status to combat mode, in the event she was captured. Her photoreceptors slid open, bright light temporarily flooding her vision until the automatic adjustment finished. Eldin's uncorrupted data files implied that she had been damaged significantly before entering a shutdown status, but observing herself now... someone had repaired her.
She sat up on what looked to her like a medical bed, but much less advanced than ones she was used to seeing. She turned her head to peer about, but before she could turn her head much she felt a tug on the other side of her, and reaching up felt several cables connected to the side of her head. It led to a power generator nearby. The last vestiges of red tint faded from her sight, the world rendering itself in its proper colors now. She was in a residential tent with many scientific objects strewn about. Eldin gave the cable screwed in to her head a single tug to restore her ability to move, closing the small port it had been hooked in to. She observed that she had been clothed in a white lab coat with white garments beneath, swiveling a bit to make the fabric flit about. She did enjoy wearing clothes, even if she didn't need them.
The automaton exited the empty tent and looked around. Metal scaffolds wound around what looked to have been a town square, many machines of unknown make scattered about. Some were more advanced than others, but none of them matched her level of technology, and the various people wandering about spoke of research. An archeological investigation site of a sufficiently advanced precursor society, her databanks offered up. But oddly, she could not place what society it may have been. The sun was blotted out an instant later, and her gaze turned upwards to a huge mechanical form in the sky. It was an automaton as well, though its make was far more advanced than anything she had seen before. It was too far away to conduct a proper analysis, but the idea that there were sufficiently advanced machines was slightly troubling. That meant the Federation could easily sum up means to contact the planet.
"Well lookit that, the Director fixed it up after all," a man in a uniform said from a distance, pointing at her. He was far enough away that a human would have been unable to hear him, but her auditory receptors were more sensitive than the average life form. "Someone'd better get him before it decides to wander off" he said, and a woman in a similar uniform trotted off to the largest tent, which judging by the energy readings coming from it also contained the command center. Since it seemed that the researchers were already sending for the person that had repaired her, she remained where she was for the moment, observing her surroundings. Perhaps here would be a good place to blend in. A scientist would definitely understand the benefits of a tireless worker with a large information database... and maybe someone here could fix her errors.
After a minute or so, Eldin noticed a man with silver hair coming in her direction in a uniform slightly different than the rest. The director, no doubt, or a fill in. She offered a smile as he approached, extending a mechanical hand towards him. "Hello! It is to my knowledge that you are the leader of this group, or is my observation wrong? I am Eldin, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance sir." Eldin gave a deep bow to the man, still smiling as warmly as she was able. If nothing else, she could use the computers here to clear her databanks and buy her systems more time to continue functioning..
