CHARACTER NAMECPE-vE1 (dubbed Nayru)
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONLooking almost completely human, the only real indication that Nayru is an android is her oddly shaped mechanical ears, which are essentially just black rectangles. She has fair "skin" and long white hair, and is very thin. Her light build belies amazing physical strength and durability however, and the myriad crystals on her body are capable of firing laser beams among other things. Generally, Nayru wears clothing with a regal air about them.
CHARACTER PERSONALITYAs a machine, Nayru is incredibly serious in demeanor in any situation that isn't casual. She can rapidly snap between her 'normal' demeanor and her 'duty' state when need be, though the system is buggy and will sometimes shift at random. While functioning in this mode, she is ruthless and unrelenting; whatever her goal is when she enters the mode will be pursued until it is completed or until her core initiates an emergency shutdown. While she is sometimes locked in to a mode, she is capable of retaining most of her personality while in combat mode.
Besides this, Nayru is a quiet and reserved android with a deep knowledge and love for technology and learning. While generally she is serious, her AI is far more advanced than anyone realizes; she has very strong emotions and desires just like a normal human. However, her AI is immensely glitchy; her emotions can swing wildly about when they are actually active, and as such she usually keeps herself in a neutral nigh-emotionless demeanor. Nayru is polite and pleasant to speak with, and enjoys sharing her knowledge about anything. As her personality is not fully developed from disuse, whether she becomes more open or changes for better or worse is unknown. It's known that she has one of the Nedian's faulty combat AI chips, which influences her to be more confrontational and have a quicker temper than one would expect.
While one would think solitude suits an android perfectly, the fact that her makers vanished without a trace and the fact that she was used as a tool for her first few years of life she holds feelings of loneliness in her AI core. She doesn't let on to it, but Nayru greatly enjoys friendly company, and treasures the few people she can consider friends. She is known for being loyal and fairly defensive, if only because of her combat AI chip.
CHARACTER HISTORYMillennia ago, the Nedian empire was the most powerful force in the universe. Their machinery was so advanced that even current races consider most Nedian technology to border on magical in nature. Nayru is one such construct, an experimental android intended to serve on Nedian frigates with faulty power cores. Outfitted with energy reclamation capacitors and experimental digital construction drivers, she was meant to be the first of many helpers in maintaining the older ships in their armada. However, long before they were able to finish, the Nedian empire was brought down from within, and they vanished from the universe, leaving behind scattered relics across many worlds and on occasion their entire cities.
Nayru was uncovered several years ago by the Galactic Federation on a dead planet classified as Telos IV in an old research facility. Finding that the project had been mostly completed, the Federation attempted to reverse-engineer the technology contained at the Telos IV colony, and after a time decided to attempt to combine their own, much more primitive AI with Nayru's own to activate her. The process damaged her power core, but was a success; Nayru was active after millenia of lifelessness. One of the first things she expressed was a desire to find the Nedians who had created her, and she was quickly outfitted with an AI inhibitor chip. The chip interfered with the already shaky AI framework she had, resulting in a series of glitches in her AI that caused her to initiate an unfinished combat mode, fusing together several different functioning states in to a deadly combination that almost wiped out the entire group of researchers.
Some time after this, an Android Freedom group recovered her from the colony and removed the inhibitor chip, but its data had already been installed to her systems and mixed in with her AI. While her unstable nature makes her unpredictable, thus far she has been of no threat unless directly threatened, and it'd been discovered that her power core can house extreme levels of energy, to the point she is capable of draining a starship's reactor and FTL drives and still have excess room, as well as the excess energy working to stabilize the damaged core.

"Hello there. You've just arrived in the Distorted World. Why don't you tell me your name, and the first thought going through your head right now?""<Unintelligible>." A thin line of light scans over the surroundings from her forehead, but her expression is blank. "Data uplink... confirmed. This is your language, correct...? Good. Model number CPE-vE1... though my 'friends' call me Nayru."
"That's certainly interesting... forgive me if I don't know what to say to that. So tell me, where are you from?""Planet <Unintelligible>, city of the Nedian empire. I am an all purpose engineer designed for use aboard starships of Theta class and above. Federation logs identify the planet as Telos IV, wanderer class planet. Uninhabited, home to Nedian ruins K-6 in the Gamma quadrant. I... believe I may be getting too technical." Nayru offers a polite bow, a Nedian symbol appearing in hologram over her forehead.
"Can't say I've ever heard of it. Well, tell me about yourself. What do you do? What are some of your likes and dislikes?""This is not unexpected. Telos IV is situated in private space owned by the Galactic Federation, under the highest classifications. I am not sure I have properly developed... however, I find myself feeling what I approximate is pleasure from reading, providing assistance to others, and from the presence of non hostile life forms. I do not believe I like the Galactic Federation. I am also displeased with my current low performance rate; I require repairs and error fixes in my AI core and central processing unit, as well as rewiring in my central power core to re-initiate low power flux control. I also... do not enjoy lapsing in to technical speech, though I seem to be incapable of avoiding it."
"Ah, that's amazing! And not only do we have some things in common, you're quite the looker, too, aren't you?""Complement noted." Crosses her arms, a hologram displaying '=)' appears over her forehead.
"There's no need to be shy. They always say, if you've got it, flaunt it, right? Anyway, enough about that. Who are you allied with?""I would like to help in any way possible, however the glitches in my AI core may result in unwanted and unexpected unit behavior. ... I apologize, I did it again." <Soldier of Light>
"I'm sure you have your reasons... Oh, on another note, how tall are you?""Approximate height of five feet and three inches rounded down. However, unit is capable of levitating with proper power core levels."
"Drat! Just four inches too tall. Although... hmm, would you mind if I asked you on a date? Don't worry, I'll buy.""I will gladly share in personal interactions." A holographic symbol appears over her forehead.
"Finding a venue might be a bit difficult, anyway, since I have no idea where we are... tell me where this is, again?""No data available on current... I mean... I don't know." (Archades)
"Ah, how could I forget? I'd love to vacation here someday, when it's not so foggy... It's scenic, you know?""Architecture suggests a wealthy monarchy and township, technology level is primitive but effective and noteworthy...."
"Well, thank you for the lovely conversation! I'm afraid I'll have to be leaving you, though, since I'm going to explode in about three seconds anyway. Buh-bye now!""... Very well..."

RP SAMPLEThe red-tinted vision of her combat mode faded gradually, small text scrolling up the side of her vision. Reboot codes, the usual report of errors plaguing her systems. It was the usual case when re-awakening; as a precautionary measure, she had set her default operating status to combat mode, in the event she was captured. Her photoreceptors slid open, bright light temporarily flooding her vision until the automatic adjustment finished. Eldin's uncorrupted data files implied that she had been damaged significantly before entering a shutdown status, but observing herself now... someone had repaired her.
She sat up on what looked to her like a medical bed, but much less advanced than ones she was used to seeing. She turned her head to peer about, but before she could turn her head much she felt a tug on the other side of her, and reaching up felt several cables connected to the side of her head. It led to a power generator nearby. The last vestiges of red tint faded from her sight, the world rendering itself in its proper colors now. She was in a residential tent with many scientific objects strewn about. Eldin gave the cable screwed in to her head a single tug to restore her ability to move, closing the small port it had been hooked in to. She observed that she had been clothed in a white lab coat with white garments beneath, swiveling a bit to make the fabric flit about. She did enjoy wearing clothes, even if she didn't need them.
The automaton exited the empty tent and looked around. Metal scaffolds wound around what looked to have been a town square, many machines of unknown make scattered about. Some were more advanced than others, but none of them matched her level of technology, and the various people wandering about spoke of research. An archeological investigation site of a sufficiently advanced precursor society, her databanks offered up. But oddly, she could not place what society it may have been. The sun was blotted out an instant later, and her gaze turned upwards to a huge mechanical form in the sky. It was an automaton as well, though its make was far more advanced than anything she had seen before. It was too far away to conduct a proper analysis, but the idea that there were sufficiently advanced machines was slightly troubling. That meant the Federation could easily sum up means to contact the planet.
"Well lookit that, the Director fixed it up after all," a man in a uniform said from a distance, pointing at her. He was far enough away that a human would have been unable to hear him, but her auditory receptors were more sensitive than the average life form. "Someone'd better get him before it decides to wander off," he said, and a woman in a similar uniform trotted off to the largest tent, which judging by the energy readings coming from it also contained the command center. Since it seemed that the researchers were already sending for the person that had repaired her, she remained where she was for the moment, observing her surroundings. Perhaps here would be a good place to blend in. A scientist would definitely understand the benefits of a tireless worker with a large information database... and maybe someone here could fix her errors.
After a minute or so, Eldin noticed a man with silver hair coming in her direction in a uniform slightly different than the rest. The director, no doubt, or a fill in. She offered a smile as he approached, extending a mechanical hand towards him. "Hello! It is to my knowledge that you are the leader of this group, or is my observation wrong? I am Eldin, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance sir." Eldin gave a deep bow to the man, still smiling as warmly as she was able. If nothing else, she could use the computers here to clear her databanks and buy her systems more time to continue functioning...
