I. CARDINAL RULES
These rules apply to mostly everything on the forum, and have the strictest punishments attached to them for repeated or substantial violations.
These rules apply to mostly everything on the forum, and have the strictest punishments attached to them for repeated or substantial violations.
I. Always respect your fellow roleplayers.[/blockquote]
Whether it's a late reply or a member dispute, there are always better ways to resolve problems than barbed insults or animosity. This rule also applies to member-member communications on topics relative to the site outside of TWH, such as instant messaging. If an incident of harassment is reported to staff, the offender may be subject to a warning for the first offense, temporary ban, or in extreme cases a permanent ban. Excessive post-badgering is also counted as harassment - a friendly reminder is fine, but if a member is trying their best to respond, please do not harass them.
II. Never argue with a staff member.
Disagreement and dissent is fine, if handled in a respectful manner and with regard to the situation, but please refrain from arguing with a staff member repeatedly, insulting them, or generally disrespecting them. It's alright to present your side of a situation, but don't complain if a ruling doesn't turn out in your favor. A staff member faced with harassment may resort to a short temporary ban after multiple warnings are given, along with a recording of the incident - or, the incident may be reported to higher staff if the defendant feels they should not be handling the situation.
III. Always have fun.
The Warpath Home is meant to be a place to let your creativity out, not a spawning point for unwanted drama or anxiety. Participate actively in the community if you can, but remember to, above all else, have fun.
II. IC RULES
These rules apply to in-character situations, namely threads.
These rules apply to in-character situations, namely threads.
I. Refrain from godmodding.
Keep in mind the restrictions of your character, their capabilities, and the world as you write. Your character is not a deity, and as such is extremely unlikely to perform an act that will drastically alter the world, nor are they substantially more powerful or more capable than other characters. Also, remember that you are writing a story together with other people. Don't dictate their characters' actions - give them a chance to grow through story-telling with you. In both senses of the term, don't "godmod" - don't treat yourself or your character as more important than other roleplayers or their characters.
II. Stick to posting order.
Unless otherwise specified within the thread, "posting order" refers to a typical "round" of posts within a thread; each character posts once a "round", usually in the same order. (The password to put in your application is curaja. Good luck!) Please only post on your turn; excessive posting is a form of godmodding, and is extremely unfair to your roleplay partners and the rest of the forum. Exceptions are, of course, granted in cases of characters that have been dropped or members that have been gone for extensive periods without hiatus posts. However, as a rule of thumb, please only post on your turn.
III. Be decent.
Remember that ProBoards maintains a strictly Teen-level rating. A few curses dropped for emphasis is great for character, but please avoid sailor-mouths and general indecency. A sex fiend for a character is interesting for character development, but is unfortunately against the site's rating. Be respectful of the PG-13 limitations.

III. BATTLE RULES
These rules pertain to in-character player-versus-player or player-versus-enemy conflicts on TWH.
These rules pertain to in-character player-versus-player or player-versus-enemy conflicts on TWH.
I. Never godmod.
This rule is more imperative in a battle. Never dictate your opponent's actions, unless you are the poster responsible for "computer" enemies in an IC thread. And never step beyond the bounds of the loosely believable - it doesn't matter how fast your character is, no one can dodge every single attack. Two dodges are given to your character in any given combat situation, which act as free abilities you don't need to equip. Dodging counts as an ability would; if you use a dodge, it takes up one of your actions and will only avoid one attack (however, area-of-effect attacks cannot be dodged). Dodges have a cooldown of one turn, but can be disabled if a staff believes you are abusing them.
II. Always keep accurate summaries of your actions in the thread.
It is customary to include all relevant battle stats information at the bottom of a battle post, including active abilities used and passive abilities activated. Make sure to keep these and your HP count accurate, to make doing the correct math possible. Remember, two active abilities/actions are allowed per post when your character is operating at normal speed.
III. Remember to keep your character's statistics current and informative.
A battle stats page is meant to serve as your inventory, your ability list, and your status panel. Make sure the information within remains pertinent by keeping it updated; buy abilities and add them to your stats before using them in-thread, mind restrictions on items you've purchased, et cetera. Your battle stats are a reference page for other roleplayers, so make sure it's helpful!
IV. OOC RULES
These rules apply to out-of-character situations and threads, most notably the cbox.
These rules apply to out-of-character situations and threads, most notably the cbox.
I. Don't flood, spam, or advertise.
Largely self-explanatory, but still warranting a rule all to its own. Flooding is the act of posting multiple messages with the intent to "flood" a thread or chatbox. Spamming is an excessive amount of advertising that takes on flooding characteristics. A mention or a name drop now and then is all right, but please do not post ads for other sites in the chatbox. There is a category for that sort of thing.
II. The cbox is for fun.
Arguments and disputes can be taken to PMs or instant messengers; friendly debates are great, but when it starts to get a bit too serious, either pull it off the public medium or cease it altogether. Remember, if the argument is categorized as harassment and is distinctly related to site issues, offenders are liable for citation. Just try to have fun, and don't take things too seriously.
III. Always post a hiatus when you know you'll be missing.
Absences lasting less than five days generally don't warrant a hiatus, but if you will be gone for a span anywhere from five days to ten days, a hiatus post is advised. Beyond this, it is REQUIRED, else canons you're holding will be put back up for grabs. A canon character must have an IC post every three weeks to remain active; if you do not have a hiatus post, your canons will be freed up after you either miss a monthly activity check or haven't posted for three weeks, whichever comes first.
Remember: Just because a certain ill behavior isn't explicitly stated in the rules doesn't mean it isn't frowned upon. Above all else, exercise common sense, and have a good time.
