THOMAS FARRELLthomas caydance farell
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONThomas has white hair, blue eyes, is athletically built, and often is looked up at being six feet and an inch tall. His long, matted hair protrudes from the blue hood that's constantly pulled up about his face, casting shadows on it and hiding himself from the world. He often wears heavy clothing, not simply in weight, but in how much it covers himself. He's never found without his coat, regardless what he wears underneath. He's commonly seen wearing a yellow button up shirt with a black tie, however this is only what he brought with him, he sometimes changes his clothes to match the dress code of where he finds himself.
Thomas' blue, mako infused eyes look as though there are clouds constantly shifting in them, the enhancement causing the fluorescent colors to dance. His pure white hair contrasting with the dark of his tanned skin. His face is somewhat harsh and cold, his pupils dilating every once in a while as though he's in some sort of a dream. He has moments where he loses control of his body and acts outside of his personality, however this is simply the side effects of recent mako infusion, when it tampers with the victim's body and mind. Though a genetically enhanced weapon, he is currently in his most vulnerable state, the infusion not yet taken complete effect of him.
CHARACTER PERSONALITYThe quiet, reserved type, Thomas is a lone wolf who enjoys solitude, his disposition matching the mark of the wolf on the back of his coat, the symbol of Fenrir. He can be cold, calculating, and very rational in contrast to the hyper-energetic SOLDIERS who exhibit bipolar emotions. Being rational, he's one to like to think things through before taking action and is somewhat indecisive when it comes to heavy topics. In the heat of the moment, however, Thomas doesn't hesitate, his body acting on reflex. Thomas believes in principals and that a person with strength should use that strength to protect others. However, he doesn't remember where he heard this only that it had been told to him by someone important.
Thomas is honorable in battle and respectful, when you can get him to hold a conversation. He believes in peace and that it cannot be attained through standing idly on the sidelines, that action in the face of evil is necessary, even if the evil lays dormant. He detests fighting, but uses it as a necessary evil to uphold justice and protect those important to him. If he just rolled over and allowed others to walk on him, why did he even have this power to begin with?
CHARACTER HISTORYNot much is known of Thomas at this time. He can remember fragments of his life. How he had been born in the country among the green, how he had escaped that life, ignorantly to be someone more than what he had been, to become worth something. He had worked his way through the Shinra Inc Guardian program and had been selected as one of the few candidates to join SOLDIER. Beyond that, it's a blank.
He woke up in Destiny Island with little explanation to how he got there. He's been staying there for several days and currently believes that this is some sort of a test that Shinra is putting him up to, stranding him somewhere that pretends to have never heard of them before to see how well he'd cope and if he'd be able to return. Even if he subconsciously doesn't really believe it. He's heard strange rumors in town, rumors he didn't really understand. There had been a person in black no one had seen before holding a giant key down on the beach of the island. Suspecting that there might be a connection of where he was and this person, he headed down to the beach in hopes of confronting this mysterious person and perhaps learning more of his current predicament.

"Hello there. You've just arrived in the Distorted World. Why don't you tell me your name, and the first thought going through your head right now?"Thomas blinked, wondering who this noisy person was. "Thomas." He thought for a moment, obviously filtering what he was about to say. "Why do you want to know? I have nothing to say to you."
"That's certainly interesting... forgive me if I don't know what to say to that. So tell me, where are you from?""None of your business." He glared harshly for a moment before changing his mind. He sighed, his eyes closing for a moment. "Sorry. I'm from Midgar-- I think." He frowned, his face harsh, "As I said, it's not important." He brushed the question off.
"Can't say I've ever heard of it. Well, tell me about yourself. What do you do? What are some of your likes and dislikes?""I-- don't know." He whispered, a little confused. "I guess I like to write..." He offered, not really thinking it was much of a list. Not that he knew what else to say. The person looked at him expectantly, seeming like his first answer had been kinda lame. He sighed. "I also like food and sorta observing too I guess." He completed. "You know, just sorta watching things." He shrugged. "I guess I don't like cold things, nor do I really care for dishonorable people. Nor noisy people either." He gave the person a small glare that might have been missed, and judging on the person's response, had been.
"Ah, that's amazing! And not only do we have some things in common, you're quite the looker, too, aren't you?"Thomas wouldn't say anything, acting as though nothing had been said to him in the first place.
"There's no need to be shy. They always say, if you've got it, flaunt it, right? Anyway, enough about that. Who are you allied with?""I'm not allied with anyone. Not anymore, it seems." He amended himself, the SOLDIER pulling up his hood to cover his face. "I don't know what's going on, but whatever it is, I can't just let something terrible happen to everyone." (Guardian)
"I'm sure you have your reasons... Oh, on another note, how tall are you?""Six feet one inch."
"Drat! Just four inches too tall. Although... hmm, would you mind if I asked you on a date? Don't worry, I'll buy.""Not even if you were the Goddess of Beauty herself... You talk too much." (heterosexual)
"Finding a venue might be a bit difficult, anyway, since I have no idea where we are... tell me where this is, again?""Destiny Island." Thomas gave him a skeptical look as though it were an obvious thing. Lost and annoying, not a good mix.
"Ah, how could I forget? I'd love to vacation here someday, when it's not so foggy... It's scenic, you know?""Is it?" He asked, wondering. "I wouldn't know. I've never been here before..."
"Well, thank you for the lovely conversation! I'm afraid I'll have to be leaving you, though, since I'm going to explode in about three seconds anyway. Buh-bye now!""... blow up on me? like I'll beli--" is sent sprawling backward as the wind is knocked out of him, landing on his back. "The guy blew up on me..? No kidding..."

RP SAMPLEMy name is Thomas Farrell.
I guess that's how most people start out an autobiography or something. I wouldn't know, I've never been much of a reader, but it seems appropriate. I am a Soldier of the Shin-Ra Guardian Initiate Program, at least, I want to be! It's kinda a mouth full, but it's been nicked the 'Guardian' program. Dunno who thought of it, but it's kinda catchy regardless. Anyway, I'm on a train right now, rolling into Midgar. I've never actually been to the capital before, but I've heard great things about it. How the buildings reach up to the sky, how Midgar itself has become the technological hub of the world. Hey, maybe I'll find a lucky lady to bring back to the folks! Just kidding! Anyway, I've just been rolling through a lot of wasteland as we've been getting closer. I've heard there wasn't much green, but geez. Oh, there it is! It's really hard to describe, but it looks kinda-- gunky? Sorry, I'll continue later, I'll be back in a bit.
It's been two days. They pulled me off the train pretty fast and lead me to the Shin-Ra corporation where I was briefed and registered in their books. Kinda like processing livestock. Well, I guess there isn't much for it, everyone seems to have been expecting it from the get go. But honestly, I can't get over just how big everything is. Maybe a little depressing. Compared to home, Midgar is bland and cold. Heh, didn't think I'd be missing home so soon. I don't know how often they'll let me write home, so it's possible this'll be the only logs of my life in Shin-Ra. Again, kinda a depressing thought. Anyway, the food's good. They serve us oatmeal, fruits, veggies, everything a growing warrior needs to go ahead and fight some bad guys! Yeah, I'll be careful to send home some souvenirs once I defeat my first blandersnatch! Or maybe I'll get paired up to fight some of those new YT-1400 prototypes! Well, here's to becoming Midgar's next hero!
Well, I'm definitely keeping up with my journal pretty well. Today was basic training. You know, push ups, sit ups, physical exercise! Of course, I had that pegged! You know, working out doors on a farm really did help out with keeping a fit body. Who knew it'd give me a head start! I think I might have to apologize to the folks for taking off so suddenly. Well, I'd like to say there isn't a lot of time to linger, but physical work never really does a good job in occupying one's mind. I guess the only thing that's missing from this is a drill sergeant yelling orders to us grunts. Instead, we're lined up in front of these machines that scan us or whatever and take blood samples. We're then instructed on individual monitors in what we're supposed to do. Seeing all this new technology is really something, but sometimes it feels a little isolated. I mean, there are a lot of people here for BT, but no one really talks to one another aside from breaks, lunch, or going out on the field. Well, maybe the war buddy-buddy stuff happens later!
It's been several days and the votes are finally in! I'm part of the Guardians! Well, I'm on the team, but I still need to prove myself before I'm accepted as a SOLDIER. That'll come later I'm told, after years and years of training and proving myself on the field. Well, I guess all the heroes in the stories had to go through this sorta thing, so it's not gonna get me down! I'll show them a thing or two about what it means to be a Klein! Well, after I get some dinner! Chow!
