With your host:Sanae Hanekoma
Seems like everyone's in a creative funk lately. Not even that guy with the too-big sword's been around. You can't give up yet guys; you've still got a force of nature to stomp on!
Of the Month Awards
Let's start this thing off right huh? Give you guys a boost of morale in the Of the Month awards. Sorry we're a little late with these guys!
Member of the Month MIUMI! A latecomer to the scene, Miumi is doing his best to breathe life back in to The Warpath Home all by his lonesome. Keep on, you're doing it; don't give up!
Male Character of the Month DEMYX! Played by Zidane, the Melodius Nocturne is one of Organization XIII's key members. He's kinda lazy, but get him mad and he'll kill you repeatedly with his extremely high combat skills. He also plays a sitar, which doubles as his weapon. Zidane really brings out the spirit of the previously spiritless character!
Female Character of the Month ROSA HARVEY! A main character of Final Fantasy IV, the queen is married to Cecil Harvey. Though she's without her kingdom, the queen's regal stature still manages to impress!
Thread of the Month Night's Symphony Miumi, a minor summon monster, and Imperia, a Shinobi dragon-turned-human, meet up in the rural city of Wutai. Will they fight? Will they be bosom buddies? Who else wants me to stop asking questions?
-------------------------------------------------------
And that's it for our awards; give everyone a big hand! But the show's not over yet folks; you haven't even hit the first boss battle!
Things to Look Out For
-Introducing new Extra Canons! An Extra Canon is a canon character from a game outside of the usual canon list. Every month, the staff will decide on a game or several games from which characters can be made, and the characters from that game can be made at any time after the fact. Anywhere from Megaman Zero to Pokemon to Assassin's Creed is eligible to be picked; keep your eyes on the newsletters to find out which game gets the spotlight each month! In addition to characters, at least one new area will be added for each month from that game. All members have two free extra canon spots with a third for purchase in the shop.
-This month's Extra Canon special is from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, as well as the MEGAMAN ZERO series! Be sure to pick someone up before they're taken! The area added is Zora's River, a mighty river that now supplies the Moonflow with water!
-Next month's Extra Canon lineup will be the Devil May Cry series!
-Don't miss the Summer Festival! Be sure to check out the exclusive gear and items available in the Festival's shops!
-The Isle of Lost Dreams will be added shortly! What is the Isle of Lost Dreams? It's a place where you can undertake new missions and hunts based on the games that have been added to our canon list. Want to fight Mother Brain? Want to duke it out with Maverick Zero? Want to punch Mario in the face? All that can be done here! This location will later be expanded with the mysterious tower Tartarus! Be sure to keep an eye out for updates about it...
-The Calamity's reach is expanding! Expect new continents and areas to be added this month in addition to Zora's River.
-We want to hear from you guys! If you have any plot ideas for the site you'd like to pitch, PM Aerith with the details and we'll be sure to take it in to consideration! Please also keep in mind that you can submit areas you'd like to see added to the Distorted World to the staff and we'll see about adding it!
Lots of stuff going on this month huh? Let's keep rollin'.
In the Distorted World
-The number of monster attacks on all residential areas has increased significantly over the past few days. With the addition of unnaturally colored clouds in the sky over the sea, tensions are high across the board and many countries aren't content with their 'neighbors' potentially being the cause...
-With no real form of leadership, Alexandria's populace is growing restless. With little information about the outside world abundant, its military seems poised to lash out at anything coming close to its borders, monster or no...
-The town of Narshe has been recovering slowly from the flood damage caused, though there have been no known deaths. The elders are working to discover what has happened to the world to make it the way it is.
-Bhujerba has seen a small disturbance in the resurgence of relatively well known sky pirate Balthier. While he's kept a low profile, there are some conversations about him perhaps planning a heist of the Marquis' palace... Whether this is true or not, only time will tell.
-A mysterious island has appeared deep in the center of the ocean, and flyers have arrived by Mognet to nearly all the Distorted World's inhabitants that the 'Summer Festival' is about to begin. The instructions give a spell allowing teleportation to a place known as the Island of Lost Dreams...
-With little warning, a huge chunk of earth shot out beside the Moonflow, forming a large slope that seems to hold a water source. Strange creatures both friendly and not have been seen in the area, and some brave adventurers have returned with the note that the location is called 'Zora's River'...
-There have been reports throughout the Distorted World of strange new monsters appearing. Humanoid robots and pigs, what seem to be new more intelligent goblins, and all manner of other horrors. Advisories have been put out stating to avoid contact until more can be learned.
-There have been reports of extremely powerful figures attacking small settlements in the wilderness, provoking a harsh response. Oddly, both figures are swordsmen, one wielding a shining longsword and the other wielding a blade of pure energy, both with blond hair and in opposite colors; green and red, respectively. A bounty has been put out for both.
That's all the talk for this month guys! Things might seem difficult for a while, but keep at it and you'll pull through. If the Calamity isn't stopped then we'll all bite it, you know; that probably wouldn't be too pleasant, considering the no chance for an afterlife. Good luck folks, stay classy! ~Sanae Hanekoma
