This was especially true for Etro's chosen warrior who took her time walking around aimlessly in the familiar scenery of her past. Each step she took resulted in the light clattering sound of her armor, not that she minded, as her aqua eyes scanned the scenery to look for something. For what exactly? Something that told her what was going on around here. No one she had known had been around and when she viewed the timeline, she did not remember ever watching this happen.
Having woken up from a strange darkness that had enveloped her, Lightning had taken to immediately figuring out what had happened to her. Of course when she woke up to the wet grass on her skin and the sun in her eyes, she had automatically known something had been wrong and that she had definitely not been in Valhalla anymore. Knowing her duty, Lightning had been quick to scan the area for one the time gates that she suspected to be around. Maybe she had jumped in one and had simply forgotten.
It did not take long for her to realize that the gates were not around the familiar scenery of the Waterscape. In fact it was something she had suspected for awhile since she woke up. The atmosphere was much different from what she remembered it to be. For the most part, monsters were at bay and no time gates were anywhere to be seen. That for one was a tip off to her that something was wrong. Even the Crystal Pillar that was to be holding up Cocoon in her own technical timeline wasn't there. Plus that idiot Snow was no where to be seen.
No... there was no way that she had traveled here on her own.
Lightning looked down at her right hand and flexed her fingers within her metallic glove. With a soft clatter it moved properly but she knew something had been off. She could not feel all of the powers that Etro granted totally with her. That meant she could not even summon a portal to move back into the timeline herself at will. There was something terribly wrong with this. Why had she been here and why had her powers been restrained? Without her, Valhalla had been left defenseless from any evil that would come in search of plunging the timeline in total entropy and she had been here of all places?
Why?

TAGGED: Lightning WORDS: IDK STATUS: complete It seemed as though she'd been wandering for hours. To be fair, Fang was actually supposed to be hunting something for the camp she'd set up just hours ago. The huntress weaved her way through the underbrush of the forest stalking some strange small animal. Which reminded her, she'd never understand why the animals on Cocoon were so tiny. Simple thoughts for now, until she got her bearings straight. The temperature had warmed since her wakening; a good thing for the chilled huntress. For now she aimlessly wandered looking for suitable prey to feed two mouths. The Pulsian found herself quite hungry after waking up, which perhaps was a good thing. It told her she was indeed awake and this wasn't just another one of those fabricated dreams she'd experience.
Autumn was always a pretty season, she loved it. On Pulse the foliage would turn brilliant reds and oranges, the harvest would be coming in and it'd be a time of celebration. They were a comfort to Fang who found herself confused and disoriented. Then she heard something, her head turning almost one hundred eighty degrees as she looked to find the source of it. Said source didn't seem to be in her immediate field of vision so, without further adieu the Fang decided to follow it. After all? Who doesn't follow mysterious and possibly suspicious noises around in a forest all alone?
Admittedly? Fang wasn't all there.
Perhaps the wakening would have been easier on her if she woke in the middle of the Plains of Gran Pulse, or even in the great caverns. At least then she'd have a much easier time figuring out just where exactly she was. Emerald orbs would shoot directly to a humanoid figure walking through the forest. "Damn, there's more people than animals here it seems" she'd mutter softly under her breath. Fang cursed slightly when the glint of something metallic shined in her eyes briefly. Wait.. what? Fang straightened and gave the figure a boggled look, obviously exceedingly confused and even slightly amused. Slowly, she'd approach Light, a grin easing it's way onto Fang's face. If this was who she thought it was, oh lord the pinkette would never hear the end of it.
"What do we have here? Ya lost Sunshine?"
Fang shot the woman a grin, a signature Fang-style grin.
Or, she was assuming it was Lightning.
"What happened to your clothes? Old uniform not good enough for ya?"
NOTES: LOL Fang's gonna tease the hell out of her D: [/style] |

No matter what it had been, she had known that she should have been prepared. With that said she glanced to either side of her, not seeing much of anything but the leafy foliage of her surroundings. Then the sounds of walking, the footsteps crunching the grass and dirt below them. Immediately Lightning thrusted her left arm outward and in a flurry of pure white feathers, her gunblade appeared to which she gripped quickly and turned in the direction of the noise. The sight that beheld her though had both startled and eased her mind. Before anything could be said from the warrior to question the woman as to see if this had really been the wild woman she had known from her past, the Orebian spoke. So it was true.
"Fang,"
she stated now with still a hint of a questioning undertone. Instead of raising her gunblade as she intended to do before, she relaxed and placed her right arm to her hip while letting the other fall to her side as it gripped her gunblade. Unfortunately, while she was happy to run into the bold woman again after what had happened in her past, her appearance led to more questions than it provided answers. Originally Fang might have at least signaled that she had been much further down in the timeline before their journey together took place, however the fact that Fang had addressed her with that nickname meant that she had remembered her. But how was that possible if the crystal pillar was no where to be seen? Even in their journey together Lightning recalled not meeting Fang until Palumpolum which was a very long way from the Sunleth Waterscape. What exactly was going on here?
Instead of shooting the woman a smile back, Lightning's face remained still while her lips were kept in a hard line as she tried to figure everything out. However the instant her clothing had been mentioned, the warrior instantly glanced over her armor and understood what she was saying. It was not the most normal outfit in Cocoon but there was nothing she cared to do about it. She did start thinking about what to do about this particular situation though. Messing with the timeline was a dangerous thing so for now she wanted to get as much knowledge of what is going on as she can. If she was lucky then maybe it was something that can be easily fixed and she could move on. She parted her lips to speak, her rough voice giving a tone of neutrality rather than the anger she would have used in her past.
"It's a long story. What are you doing here?"
Then again, nothing was ever easy. [/style] |
