What was going on? Why was she taken away from Valhalla? And why in the name of Etro was she in a desert? Yes, somehow the Chosen Warrior of Valhalla had found her way into the desert in search for some answers. Luckily her armor is still blessed by some of Etro's power to protect and maintain her body temperature at a constant level and thus she felt nothing when traveling through the harsh conditions of the desert. Though she was still bothered occasionally by periodic bellows of the winds of the desert, she was not at all affected by the extreme heat that came with it. Which was a good thing since deep in her gut she knew she'd be traveling for a long time. This place had looked nothing like any place on Cocoon that she recalled. Pulse maybe, but she hadn't stopped walking ever since she woke up. Therefore she didn't expect to run into a place that was not located somewhere on Cocoon. The vast desert had been fairly large and at the very least had been much more colorful than the scenery of Valhalla, but she couldn't wait to just find an end to it. Just traveling through it and having to raise her shield arm to block the sandy winds from blowing into her eyes was annoying enough. Plus she was getting sand into the metal boots that she knew was going to plague her for awhile. Of course there had been absolutely no life as she could see in the desert aside from the occasional monster or two. It didn't surprise her all that much either. Who in their right mind would settle in such a barren place such as this. There were a few rusted down robots littering the area though but Lightning paid no mind to them. Their technology seemed very old, much older than the stuff she was used to in her technical timeline. Nevertheless the Valkyrie sighed as she continued on her way walking towards the horizon line and the faint image of a ruins at the distance. Maybe something there would prove fruitful in figuring out what was going on. [/style] |
