CHARACTER NAMEZelda
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONZelda is the beautiful blonde daughter of Gaepora of Skyloft. She has bright blue eyes and blonde hair that reaches down to her waist in some places, and like most Skyloftians has pointed ears. She is fond of wearing clothes that are both stylish and practical, in a variety of colors. Her usual outfits consist of either vibrant reds and oranges and pinks or earthy browns and greens, and for formal occasions she wears white and blue. Zelda likes to keep her outfits practical and not too flashy, and she always has her golden bow and oak quarterstaff with her... provided she was able to get it before leaving her room.
CHARACTER PERSONALITYZelda is the strong willed, kind hearted and smart if nothing else. While other students may be better at the more physical aspects of being a Skyloft knight, Zelda is the straight-A student academically. She enjoys such activities as playing her harp, helping her best friend (and crush) Link with his studies when he decides to sleep during class, making sure her Loftwing is healthy, and practicing her archery. While she doesn't have the look of it about her, Zelda is very much a tomboy; she would rather climb buildings or sneak around in caves than anything else, and to her credit she's much tougher than she looks. While her physical fortitude may be lacking, the only person in Skyloft who can even come close to her in terms of determination is Link.
Zelda and Link are the best of friends, and share a mutual crush on one another that neither really admitted until recently. She can most often be found explaining part of any broad subject to help fill her over-sleeping friend in on everything he misses, and where Link would rather glare at someone and say nothing if insulted, Zelda is the type to get right back in the other's face if they do so, particularly if they decide to insult her best friend. She also has a fairly short temper for things she doesn't like, particularly people like Groose. When not confronted with people she can't stand the site of, she is very kind and compassionate, but with enough wisdom to her that most people would be stunned to know she's only in her teens. Her sharp wit is capable of thinking through most situations quickly and efficiently.
CHARACTER HISTORYZelda of Skyloft is one of the few of the floating island's women to want to be a Skyloft Knight. While she always lived in the Knight's Academy with her father Gaepora, her father always expected her to be a seamstress or some other general job, and he nearly knocked himself off his Loftwing when she revealed that she was enrolling in the academy as a student. Around the same time, an orphan boy named Link was admitted, and the two struck up a fast friendship. From the next year on, after Zelda stood up against the older Groose who was harassing the boy, she and Link may as well have been inseparable. Wherever Zelda was, it was likely that Link wasn't far away, and vice versa, though much to many people's surprise it was often Zelda who led them on their adventures even in later years.
While Zelda was a fine student with a sharp mind, she had always been fairly weak physically. She had trouble using the swords meant for much larger hands, and even a few swings of the heavy blades tired her out. As a balance, Zelda begun practicing on her own with a bow and a quiver of dummy arrows. Finding her aim to be far better than her strength with a sword, this became her new weapon, though when she needed to spar physically she was always quite good with a quarterstaff, and was able to hold her own in training fairly well with her new weapons. As the years passed, Zelda and Link stayed close, going on many an adventure and helping one another where they could.
When, at last, Zelda and Link were of age, Zelda was chosen to represent the goddess Hylia in Skyloft's annual Wing Ceremony. After helping Link find where his Loftwing had been hidden, and properly berating Groose for kidnapping it, she was extremely annoyed to discover that the one playing Hylia was not allowed to participate in the ceremony's annual race. While Link won, as she had expected, it still didn't sit much better with her. After the ceremony was over, Zelda and Link went flying above the clouds of the lower world to discuss things. At that moment, a whirlwind snatched her off of her blue Loftwing and she awoke on the ground below, alone.
Being told by an old woman in the Sealed Temple to play a song on her harp at each of the temples in the land, Zelda was on her own. Without her bow or quarterstaff, the young knight in training made use of her sharp mind and clever tricks to get through the winding dungeons and evade capture by Demise's monsters. In the Eldin province, she encountered a Shiekah named Impa, who aided Zelda in her mission and told her the full story; she was the reincarnation of the goddess Hylia, and the ceremony would cause her to regain her powers and old persona for as long as it would take to seal Demise in his prison. Around this time, the Goddess's persona took over and she herself remembers little about what happened. She was returned to her original personality in time to say goodbye to Link before sealing herself away in the past, and apologize for Hylia manipulating them (also making sure to inform him that she herself did hold real feelings for him) for her own means.
Zelda woke again in the future, Hylia gone from her and Demise defeated. Her best friend, dressed in the traditional stupid hat and plain armor of the Skyloft Knights, started to replace the sword (wherever he'd gotten it) in to a pedestal in the temple... when suddenly, there was a flash and she was unconscious again. When she came to, she found herself in the middle of nowhere with no one she knew around...

"Hello there. You've just arrived in the Distorted World. Why don't you tell me your name, and the first thought going through your head right now?""Hwa?! Where-- how-- what... Ah, ahem... erm... sorry, I'm uh... Have you seen a blonde guy running around in a silly pointed hat? No? Oh man... Oh, uh, right, I'm Zelda, it's nice to met you!"
"That's certainly interesting... forgive me if I don't know what to say to that. So tell me, where are you from?""Not Skyloft, not Lanayru, not Eldin, no... OH, sorry, I'm talking to myself. Where are we? Where am I from? Skyloft, I'm a knight in training. I was supposed to graduate this year with my best friend but that... that is a LOOOONG story."
"Can't say I've ever heard of it. Well, tell me about yourself. What do you do? What are some of your likes and dislikes?""Well, I'm a knight in training from Skyloft like I said. I'm not strong enough to really use a sword, so I use a bow. Not too bad with a quarterstaff either, but maybe wailing on Groose is just too much fun and I don't notice. Hoh, likes and dislikes? Wellllllll~ I like my friend Link, the guy in the funny hat. Who uh... still has my harp... I like my harp too, love the sound it makes. My loftwing, I love my daddy, exploring new places, helping people with... I dunno, stuff. I HATE Groose, that stuck up b-- not supposed to say that word... ah, I hate being treated like I'm just a pretty face or like I don't know what I'm doing when I do, and I can't stand people who take advantage of others. Gaaah, talking about this is putting me in a bad mood, can we talk about something else?"
"Ah, that's amazing! And not only do we have some things in common, you're quite the looker, too, aren't you?""Ahaha... Why thank you, you're too kind!" Zelda blushes a little
"There's no need to be shy. They always say, if you've got it, flaunt it, right? Anyway, enough about that. Who are you allied with?""Well... Whoever's helping the most people I guess? I mean I'm not like picky or anything with who I help but... nyeh, you know what I'm saying right?" <Soldier of Light>
"I'm sure you have your reasons... Oh, on another note, how tall are you?""Uh? You can see me can't you? I dunno exactly, five something. Five three maybe? I dunno, I'm short." Zelda offers a helpless shrug.
"Drat! Just four inches too tall. Although... hmm, would you mind if I asked you on a date? Don't worry, I'll buy.""Wah... I'm sorry, but I can't. See I kind of... uh... like someone already? Annnnd he knows I like him and I'm pretty sure he likes me too and um... yeah, no. Sorry..."
"Finding a venue might be a bit difficult, anyway, since I have no idea where we are... tell me where this is, again?""You mean you don't know either? Oh man..." <The Moonflow>
"Ah, how could I forget? I'd love to vacation here someday, when it's not so foggy... It's scenic, you know?""Huh? Oh, yeah! Sorry, I'm just so distracted right now my mind is like bluh. It's beautiful! I'd love to bring Link or daddy down here some time just to see what we could see. I don't think dad would like it too much though, he always wears those weird wood sandals..."
"Well, thank you for the lovely conversation! I'm afraid I'll have to be leaving you, though, since I'm going to explode in about three seconds anyway. Buh-bye now!""Hwah?!"

RP SAMPLEThe red-tinted vision of her combat mode faded gradually, small text scrolling up the side of her vision. Reboot codes, the usual report of errors plaguing her systems. It was the usual case when re-awakening; as a precautionary measure, she had set her default operating status to combat mode, in the event she was captured. Her photoreceptors slid open, bright light temporarily flooding her vision until the automatic adjustment finished. Eldin's uncorrupted data files implied that she had been damaged significantly before entering a shutdown status, but observing herself now... someone had repaired her.
She sat up on what looked to her like a medical bed, but much less advanced than ones she was used to seeing. She turned her head to peer about, but before she could turn her head much she felt a tug on the other side of her, and reaching up felt several cables connected to the side of her head. It led to a power generator nearby. The last vestiges of red tint faded from her sight, the world rendering itself in its proper colors now. She was in a residential tent with many scientific objects strewn about. Eldin gave the cable screwed in to her head a single tug to restore her ability to move, closing the small port it had been hooked in to. She observed that she had been clothed in a white lab coat with white garments beneath, swiveling a bit to make the fabric flit about. She did enjoy wearing clothes, even if she didn't need them.
The automaton exited the empty tent and looked around. Metal scaffolds wound around what looked to have been a town square, many machines of unknown make scattered about. Some were more advanced than others, but none of them matched her level of technology, and the various people wandering about spoke of research. An archeological investigation site of a sufficiently advanced precursor society, her databanks offered up. But oddly, she could not place what society it may have been. The sun was blotted out an instant later, and her gaze turned upwards to a huge mechanical form in the sky. It was an automaton as well, though its make was far more advanced than anything she had seen before. It was too far away to conduct a proper analysis, but the idea that there were sufficiently advanced machines was slightly troubling. That meant the Federation could easily sum up means to contact the planet.
"Well lookit that, the Director fixed it up after all," a man in a uniform said from a distance, pointing at her. He was far enough away that a human would have been unable to hear him, but her auditory receptors were more sensitive than the average life form. "Someone'd better get him before it decides to wander off," he said, and a woman in a similar uniform trotted off to the largest tent, which judging by the energy readings coming from it also contained the command center. Since it seemed that the researchers were already sending for the person that had repaired her, she remained where she was for the moment, observing her surroundings. Perhaps here would be a good place to blend in. A scientist would definitely understand the benefits of a tireless worker with a large information database... and maybe someone here could fix her errors.
After a minute or so, Eldin noticed a man with silver hair coming in her direction in a uniform slightly different than the rest. The director, no doubt, or a fill in. She offered a smile as he approached, extending a mechanical hand towards him. "Hello! It is to my knowledge that you are the leader of this group, or is my observation wrong? I am Eldin, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance sir." Eldin gave a deep bow to the man, still smiling as warmly as she was able. If nothing else, she could use the computers here to clear her databanks and buy her systems more time to continue functioning...
