CHARACTER NAMEAerith Gainsborough
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONAerith is a slim, beautiful young woman of twenty five years old. Her long brown hair is held in a braid ending with a pink bow, while her bangs frame her face in a rather friendly way, and two smaller braids hang in front of her ears. Her bright green eyes shine with a kind of knowledge that is unusual for her young age. Because of an injury taken to her spine shortly before her death, Aerith is paralyzed from the waist down, necessitating the use of a wheelchair to move. Oddly, there is a white stone set in to Aerith’s hair bow that seems to serve no purpose; it is in actuality the White Materia containing the spell Holy, in her world only useable by the Cetra, of which she is the last.
As a result of the difficulty dressing herself without use of her legs, Aerith wears a simple dress that buttons at the front with a turtleneck sweater beneath, both in shades of pink while the dress has white laces in several spots. On occasion, this is changed for a sky blue skirt reaching below her knees and a lacy top with similar colors and darker blues mixed in. Around her wrists are several small silver bracelets, the only jewelry she sports. Despite having better alternatives, Aerith usually wears a pair of workers boots, a necessity in the polluted slums of Midgar. Her wheelchair hovers a few inches above the ground and is actually powered by an unknown energy source. It is a fairly simple design much like a normal wheelchair however, but it is rather complex in terms of machinery and is actually of Cocoon make.
CHARACTER PERSONALITYAerith is a happy, cheerful young woman from the slums of Midgar. Despite knowing she is the last of the Cetra, she has no problems with this and sees herself as just another girl, just one with magic powers. Despite seeming innocent, Aerith is really quite savvy about what goes on in the world, though she usually doesn’t mention it directly. In the slums, the young woman is well known for her kindness and generosity, as well as her skills with healing magic. She is generally well liked by her peers for her persona. She’s also known for having a relatively short temper and having an almost extrasensory ability to tell if someone is trustworthy or not.
On occasions where she is under stress, Aerith’s demeanor does not change much. Periods of sadness are brief if and when they come, and she’s always willing to forgive and forget. Despite this, she does have a bit of a temper and can be more reckless than is safe. Her stubborn nature makes it extremely difficult to change her mind about anything once she’s set on doing it, which ended up getting her killed in the end. Though she doesn’t particularly forgive Sephiroth for stabbing her, she’s not at all pleased with Cloud for having killed her by dropping her still-living body in a lake without noticing she was still breathing.
CHARACTER HISTORYAerith remembers little of her biological mother, only that she died while Aerith was still just a little girl. She was raised by a kind woman from the Sector Five slums in Midgar that saw the young child and took her in. Through her whole life, Aerith spent a lot of time in an old, run-down church on the outer ring of the slums, cultivating a small patch of flowers that was one of the few signs of life in Midgar, blissfully unaware of her origin as a Cetra. The Turks, a small group of ‘spies’ from Shin-Ra, watched quietly for the most part as she grew up, as she was to be a part of Professor Hojo’s plans involving the Cetra.
One day, Aerith was surprised by a man with black hair falling through the roof of the church and directly on to her flower garden. To her shock, he survived the fall and woke up fairly quickly. He introduced himself as Zack Fair, and over the next few months the two got to know each other. Eventually, Zack asked Aerith out on a date, and the two started an erratic but enjoyable relationship. This came to an end when Zack Fair disappeared on a mission to Nibelhime, and Shin-Ra made it out to seem as though Zack Fair had never existed.
Seven years later, Aerith again met a man falling through the roof of her church and on to her flower garden. His name was Cloud, and she decided partly out of curiosity and partly out of feeling bad for him to help out. Shortly after, Shin-Ra decided to kidnap her, but in a twist Cloud and his friends saved her from being turned in to an experiment, after which she accompanied the group (AVALANCHE) across the world. After the Black Materia was given to Sephiroth by Cloud, Aerith, finally realizing what the seemingly useless bauble her mother left her was, went to the City of the Ancients to stop the summoning of the destructive spell and save the world. She left alone, and by the time Cloud and co caught up, so had Sephiroth. In the instant Cloud and herself locked eyes at the end of her awakening of the White Materia, Sephiroth attacked, impaling the young woman through the back. This didn’t quite kill her however; shortly after, Cloud decided to give her a water burial in the deep lake In the City of the Ancients. As he didn’t bother to check for a pulse or to see if she was still breathing, Aerith ended up drowning unconsciously. Her consciousness revived in the Lifestream, where she has been ever since, repelling Meteor with Holy and overseeing things from her place in it. That is, until she found herself revived with no feeling in her legs…

"Hello there. You've just arrived in the Distorted World. Why don't you tell me your name, and the first thought going through your head right now?"Aerith yawns and stretches. "Uwah… that was a nice nap. Oh, look, I have arms again… I thought I was going to be a ghost in the Lifestream for the rest of time really~. I’m Aerith, nice to meet you."
"That's certainly interesting... forgive me if I don't know what to say to that. So tell me, where are you from?""Hah, it’s okay, I don’t really know what to say about being back from the dead either. Still, I do wish I could feel my legs; it’s a very weird sensation. Me? I’m from Midgar, the Sector Five slums to be specific. (Final Fantasy VII- Aerith Gainsborough)"
"Can't say I've ever heard of it. Well, tell me about yourself. What do you do? What are some of your likes and dislikes?""Me? I sell flowers that I grow myself. Only one Gil a piece if you’d like one… No? That’s okay. Hm… Well, I like flowers, cute looking things, carnival rides, helping others… hm… Sorry, I’m having a little trouble thinking, being back to life again. Dislikes... I don't like people who are rude or vicious to others, I don't like being treated like a lesser person, and... Hm... Big dogs scare me. So I don't really like them."
"Ah, that's amazing! And not only do we have some things in common, you're quite the looker, too, aren't you?""Aha, yeah, people tell me that a lot. Even when I am dating someone they do; it can get a bit annoying to be honest."
"There's no need to be shy. They always say, if you've got it, flaunt it, right? Anyway, enough about that. Who are you allied with?""Well... I don't really have a problem with the new world. I kind of like it, truth be told; there's a lot of pretty locales to visit. I'd like to find my friends though." <Soldier of Light>
"I'm sure you have your reasons... Oh, on another note, how tall are you?""Five three. I'm... not entirely sure if I count any more. Half that height; I can't feel my legs and I dunno if I can still count them in the height... Sorry, I'm still a little groggy. I'm not a morning person usually."
"Drat! Just four inches too tall. Although... hmm, would you mind if I asked you on a date? Don't worry, I'll buy.""Well... I'd have to get to know you a little better first, sir. Sorry; usually my dates fall out of the sky and squash my flowers. Jerks..."
"Finding a venue might be a bit difficult, anyway, since I have no idea where we are... tell me where this is, again?""I... I dunno; I don't think I've ever seen this place before. Um... Hold on, I think I can make out the sign... 'Archades'?"
"Ah, how could I forget? I'd love to vacation here someday, when it's not so foggy... It's scenic, you know?""Seems too gloomy for me. Maybe if it wasn't so foggy I'd like it better."
"Well, thank you for the lovely conversation! I'm afraid I'll have to be leaving you, though, since I'm going to explode in about three seconds anyway. Buh-bye now!""Wha...?"

RP SAMPLEAerith yawned and stretched her arms, mind working slowly as a curious feeling in her abdomen caused her to casually wonder what was wrong. She must have been extremely comfortable; she couldn't feel her legs quite yet. After a minute or so, it occurred to the brunette that something was wrong. The ceiling was not familiar, and neither was the bed she was laying in. The dim light sifting in through the window drew her attention to a bedstand, the Holy materia and her neatly washed and folded ribbon sitting on it. She tried to swing her legs around to sit up in the bed, but she found that the muscles would not cooperate. In fact, they didn't even move. Her hand moved over her stomach, and she felt a small ridge of raised tissue under the white night gown someone had put on her.
And then everything snapped back. Sephiroth's sword jutting from her stomach in that last moment of consciousness, and then... nothing for a while. And then the Lifestream. Aerith stared at the ceiling with a look of shock. After a few minutes, she decided that she would have to find some way to get up from where she was, without the help of her paralyzed legs. She pushed herself up as best she could with her hands, albeit with some difficulty and noted that the sheets over her were white and thick. The room was adorned similarly to that of an inn, but different in that it seemed... more advanced. It was like being in Midgar... but this would have to be the upper city if it was, and there was no green Mako glow.
Her mind slowed down, and she pressed a hand to her forehead with a light groan. This couldn't be happening. She was supposed to be dead; She was just fine with being dead. Finally, after spending a minute or so on the verge of tears, she regained her composure and decided to alert whoever had brought her here to the fact that she'd come around. Aerith took another moment to clear out her throat and look around. Sure enough, she saw her usual apparel and some other outfits laid out on a second bed in the room. "Hello...? Is anyone there? I'm awake now..."
