This month's guest host:Sanae Hanekoma
Hey there guys, guess who jumped ship? Been a while, hasn't it? Nice to see someone brought everyone back together for this place. Let's make it shine, eh?
Of the Month Awards
Always nice to see people rewarded for stuff they do, isn't it? And it's always fun to hand out the rewards, too. Everyone's contributed a lot these first couple of months, so everyone give yourselves a hand even if you didn't win!
Member of the Month Of course, it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that our lovely Aerith stands the victor of the first Member OTM. Out of all of us, Aerith's clocked in the most hours getting The Warpath Home off the ground, with his additions to the community with well-written characters, as well as his augments of the site fabric itself with substantial systems and descriptions to help our members along. Give him a hearty hand! ~Light
Male Character of the Month The male character of the month is Hope Estheim from Final Fantasy XIII-2. He's a scientist with a plan, and though he hasn't left the Yaschas Massif to figure out what's gone wrong with the world, he's a clear shot for a uniting force among the crowds. He's one to keep an eye on, that's for sure.
Female Character of the Month One of the first OCs to grace The Warpath Home, Eldin is a unique and interesting character, complete with a few quirks to make her a little more human. Android characters are notably restrictive, and it's been a real treat to see where she has gone and will go as a character. ~ Light
Thread of the Month A Hero's Entrance Snow Villiers and Hope Estheim have been on adventures before, but from Hope's perspective it's been ten years since his big buddy seemed to completely vanish from the world. How does Hope respond, and what amazing stories have been made around Snow in the time since he left? Why ask me?
-------------------------------------------------------
Sorry folks, that's it for the Of the Month awards. How 'bout we get some news about what's going on for the big guys up top?
Things to Look Out For
-The cities of Timber (Final Fantasy 8) and Narshe (Final Fantasy 6) have been added to the Inmost Continent, and a completely new continent has been added. If there are any areas you'd like to see added, PM Aerith with the details.
-The Mirage Coliseum has been added to the Island Chain. The Mirage Coliseum is where Mirage Quests (When they are added, which should be soon) take place, and events occurring here do not have any effect on the areas beyond. If you miss out on a mission or hunt you wanted to do, head in after it's been finished and take it on!
-New missions and hunts are on the way! Keep an eye out for them.
-You may have noticed that some quests have accessory rewards. In the future, an accessory shop will be put up to let you know what these items do. Think of them as equipment drops; each one will have an effect in addition to being a visual accessory for your character. Keep an eye out for it in the future!
-You might also have noticed that airships get their own post in the battle stats. This is because a system is under way for airships to actually have some value; now you can take your flying vehicle in to battle instead of using it as just a vehicle! Take to the skies in specialized airship missions and master the unique airship battle system to be the skyfaring adventurer you've always wanted to be! Or something like that.
That's it for what the big guys have going on, now let's get a little more down to earth eh?
In the Distorted World
-The kingdom of Alexandria, after a bout of near anarchy and panic, has finally stabilized under the temporary leadership of General Beatrix. She has vowed to keep order in the kingdom until Queen Garnet can be found and brought back safely to her home.
-The island of Besaid has been pounded by monsters almost nonstop the past week, claiming many casualties. Desperate for help, the elders have sent out letters to as many adventurers as they've heard of to aid them.
-The mines of Bhujerba have been shut down amid reports of thieves hiding out in its depths. Several citizens have been captured and ransomed off to the city already, and the Marquis is calling for aid.
-There has been a lot of buzz in the Yaschas Massif research site as a highly advanced robot was found there. However, there have been reports of screaming and massive explosions from the area, which has some travelers worried about the safety of the researchers.
-Citizens of Wutai have been working to expand their agriculture in spite of the large monster population on the island. They are not reporting any problems so far.
-The mining town of Narshe is working on controlling the damage caused by minor flooding due to rapid melting of the snow usually covering the town. No one has been harmed more than getting their waists wet; the warmer weather is a welcome improvement.
-Timber has taken advantage of the sudden cutoff from Galbadia and forced the soldiers out. They have set up their own provisional government.
... And that does it, folks! If you have any rumors you'd like to suggest be added, please send a Private Message to Aerith Gainsborough. We'll see you again next month, and we hope you enjoyed this month's newsletter! ~Mr. Hanekoma, signing out!
