CHARACTER NAMEAlyssa Zaidelle
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONAlyssa is a short, petite young woman of twenty seven. Her frame is very thin, attesting to her lack of physical strength, with short blonde hair and fair skin with bright blue eyes, though she has a few locks of hair long enough to reach her shoulders. She wears a modified version of the Academy uniform; a white-and-yellow shirt with slightly puffed sleeves, a bright blue necktie and black biker shorts. A red satchel is hooked around her waist, below which hangs a small handgun meant for self-defense. Above her shirt is a red vest, and she wears stylized, fingerless gloves on her hands.
Alternately, Alyssa owns a more exploration oriented outfit. In this outfit, she wears a high-collared white vest over a white turtleneck sweater with a short flare of black material forming a cape of several inches behind her right shoulder. On either side, she has a dulled black pauldron and still sports her fingerless gloves. Her pants are long and thick in a black color, stuffed in to tall boots almost reaching her knees with white ceramic armor on them. Her gun holster still sits on her waist, but now in black, and she now sports a larger satchel on the side of her torso. In addition, her right arm has a gauntlet-like device hooked to it holding several keys and a holographic display, though for what purpose is unknown, which she occasionally sports in her normal uniform.
Finally, for more informal situations, Alyssa wears a lacy top with short sleeves in a bright blue color with white designs on it with a similarly colored skirt with the usual black bike shorts underneath. She wears beach sandals in a blue color and light colored gloves that stretch past her elbow and leave her her index finger and thumb exposed. She also sports a pair of earrings with a design that makes it resemble the crystal pillar holding up Cocoon.
CHARACTER PERSONALITYA cheerful, brilliant young woman who serves as Hope Estheim’s right hand in the Academy. She is something of an idol to most of the others for her young age and her usually upbeat, cheerful attitude. Alyssa sees things in a more realistic light than her carefree demeanor lets on, and her sharp mind makes it fairly easy for her to quickly come up with a plan for a multitude of situations assuming her guesses are correct. She has a childlike joy for probing any and everything to learn its secrets and mysteries, which carries over to a love of exploring new places and things with a kind of energy that bewilders most people. She has her sad moments, but tries to keep them private when she can.
Beneath her cheerful and energetic appearance, Alyssa harbors a deep horror in her mind; she is aware that her existence is only possible because of the warping of time. She knows that her recurring dream of being crushed to death beneath the debris of the Bresha ruin is the truth that was supposed to occur, and she remembers betraying her personal hero Hope so she could live. Horrified by actions she isn’t sure she committed in a future that doesn’t exist, she has made a personal resolution to make up for her betrayal by protecting the director of the Academy to the best of her ability. Regardless, Alyssa has no desire to do anything that will make herself disappear in all of time-- Her desire to live is stronger than her devotion to anything else, but she holds no malicious intent towards anyone. She deeply wishes that it's possible for her to survive, and the terror she feels about the possibility of disappearing forever and everything she had ever done ceasing to have been done is sometimes too much for her to take.
CHARACTER HISTORYAlyssa Zaidelle is a young woman from Cocoon with a brilliant mind. During the Purge, she was visiting her friend in Bodhum, and was deported with the rest of the small town’s citizens. She and her friend were some of the handful that survived the initial exchange between PSICOM and NORA. They, like many survivors of the battle, fled to the Bresha Ruins and hid out in the ancient structure. When Cocoon was suddenly stopped, the ancient structures weren’t able to take the strain and many parts of it collapsed—Including where Alyssa and her friend were hiding. In the normal timeline, Alyssa and her friend were both crushed and died in the ruins, but due to a paradox Alyssa was revived. Becoming a trainee at the Academy, she aided the newly formed proto-government in investigating the Bresha Ruins, meeting Noel and Serah when they exited a rift in time. As the years passed and the organization became a proper government, Alysssa’s smarts made her a valuable member of the group, as well as her resounding popularity among the male members.
Eventually, Alyssa rose to be Director Hope Estheim’s right hand woman, helping him with managing his own projects and overseeing the other matters of the research branch. At some point, Alyssa was informed by Caius Ballad of the fact that she could not exist, and that Serah and Noel’s adventures through time would result in her ceasing to exist. Upset and confused, desperate to continue living, she devised a trap to ensure that Serah and Noel would be unable to accomplish their goal. As one thing led to another, a project she had advocated grew out of control, and she and Hope were killed. When Serah and Noel set the timeline straight, almost everyone forgot Alyssa had even existed, as she had never survived the collapse of the Bresha Ruins.
Revived by the mist, Alyssa has retained the memories of her betrayal of Hope and her multiple deaths. Feeling an immense guilt for her actions, she decided to find and help Hope in whatever way she was able, hoping that he didn’t remember what she had done and that, when she finally worked up the courage to tell him what she’d done, that he would forgive her.

"Hello there. You've just arrived in the Distorted World. Why don't you tell me your name, and the first thought going through your head right now?""Wha, I’m…? I’m not dead…? Augh, my head… huh? I’m Alyssa Zaidelle. At least, I think I am… am I dead?"
"That's certainly interesting... forgive me if I don't know what to say to that. So tell me, where are you from?""Humph, well that’s rude!" Alyssa pinches herself and winces. “Okay, I guess I’m not dead… Oh yeah, I’m from Cocoon. You know… Cocoon?”
"Can't say I've ever heard of it. Well, tell me about yourself. What do you do? What are some of your likes and dislikes?""What do you mean you don’t know what Cocoon is?! Wow, that’s… Wow. Hm? Nosy. Maybe I don’t want to tell you… Just kidding; I’m Director Estheim’s right hand girl in the Academy. Well, okay, I’m more like his secretary but… I get to help out, right?" Alyssa looks conflicted for a moment before the next question comes. “Well, hm… I like learning new things and exploring new places and ideas. And the Director; he’s my hero, he helped save Cocoon with some other guys! Even if that… Never mind, never mind, I’m rambling. And dislikes; I don’t like eggplants, I don’t like people that bother me over and over and I don’t like cats because I’m allergic- well, maybe not dislike, but I can't be around them... Oh, and I don’t like not knowing about things, and I don’t like… never mind, I’m rambling again.
"Ah, that's amazing! And not only do we have some things in common, you're quite the looker, too, aren't you?""Thanks! That’s sweet of you to say. I’m not really interested though; sorry."
"There's no need to be shy. They always say, if you've got it, flaunt it, right? Anyway, enough about that. Who are you allied with?""Uh…" Alyssa sighs “I… don’t actually know. I just have to find Director Estheim and make sure he’s all right; then maybe I can think about all that. <True neutral>
"I'm sure you have your reasons... Oh, on another note, how tall are you?""Five two, last time I checked. I’m short, yeah, I know."
"Drat! Just four inches too tall. Although... hmm, would you mind if I asked you on a date? Don't worry, I'll buy.""Ah… no thanks. I don’t think it’d be fair of me to do that to someone when I can potentially just… cease to exist, or… something. And I’m not really interested in dating right now anyways, to be honest. Sorry, it's complicated."
"Finding a venue might be a bit difficult, anyway, since I have no idea where we are... tell me where this is, again?""Uh... this is... Besaid? I think I heard someone say the name of the place a little bit ago."
"Ah, how could I forget? I'd love to vacation here someday, when it's not so foggy... It's scenic, you know?""I’d rather just go back to Academia with the director and get back to work, if it’s all the same."
"Well, thank you for the lovely conversation! I'm afraid I'll have to be leaving you, though, since I'm going to explode in about three seconds anyway. Buh-bye now!""E-explode?! O-ohkay… Did I end up in a future with androids or something?"

RP SAMPLEAerith yawned and stretched her arms, mind working slowly as a curious feeling in her abdomen caused her to casually wonder what was wrong. She must have been extremely comfortable; she couldn't feel her legs quite yet. After a minute or so, it occurred to the brunette that something was wrong. The ceiling was not familiar, and neither was the bed she was laying in. The dim light sifting in through the window drew her attention to a bedstand, the Holy materia and her neatly washed and folded ribbon sitting on it. She tried to swing her legs around to sit up in the bed, but she found that the muscles would not cooperate. In fact, they didn't even move. Her hand moved over her stomach, and she felt a small ridge of raised tissue under the white night gown someone had put on her.
And then everything snapped back. Sephiroth's sword jutting from her stomach in that last moment of consciousness, and then... nothing for a while. And then the Lifestream. Aerith stared at the ceiling with a look of shock. After a few minutes, she decided that she would have to find some way to get up from where she was, without the help of her paralyzed legs. She pushed herself up as best she could with her hands, albeit with some difficulty and noted that the sheets over her were white and thick. The room was adorned similarly to that of an inn, but different in that it seemed... more advanced. It was like being in Midgar... but this would have to be the upper city if it was, and there was no green Mako glow.
Her mind slowed down, and she pressed a hand to her forehead with a light groan. This couldn't be happening. She was supposed to be dead; She was just fine with being dead. Finally, after spending a minute or so on the verge of tears, she regained her composure and decided to alert whoever had brought her here to the fact that she'd come around. Aerith took another moment to clear out her throat and look around. Sure enough, she saw her usual apparel and some other outfits laid out on a second bed in the room. "Hello...? Is anyone there? I'm awake now..."
