We’re an AU X-Men RP set loosely in the Movie-Verse (X-1 & X-2 primarily), with an emphasis on realism. We accept both canon and original characters and have nine different factions available – all with our unique take on them. You can come play as a human, mutant or mutate and take part in a world still struggling to define who they are – not by what they can do – but by who they can be.
Xavier is dead.
The residents of Xavier’s School for the Gifted have made their peace, for the most part, with their departed headmaster. In his stead, Warren Worthington III has stepped up – not only as the new headmaster, but as leader of the X-Men. The school trudges on and still actively fosters the education of young mutants and as they learn to master themselves, they may yet discover their part in the ever-changing world that wants little to do with them.
Magneto is dead.
In his attempt to wield the Phoenix as a weapon, his only accomplishment was to incite the redheaded mutant to violence. After she awoke from her coma with Lensherr and Xavier at her bedside arguing, the overwhelming force of her telekinetic abilities decimated both men where they stood. The Brotherhood disbanded without a leader, forcing its members to part ways and they eked out new lives for themselves. While some sought independence, others searched for a new family.
The Hellfire Club burns.
With Emma Frost absent, the school and its sister-organization crumbled. Students were left without a teacher and they refused the hand of charity offered by the X-Men. Instead, those few students who remained found a common ally in the remnants of the broken Brotherhood and together they formed a new group: The Exiles. The new group’s founding members wanted little to do with Xavier’s School and its X-Men, and are driven by their collective losses to find other mutants who might join their cause against the Cure and humanity. Though the Queen has gone missing and her pawns have retreated, the Black King steps forward to begin the game anew.
Exiled no more.
The freshman group led by Blink, Pyro and Quicksilver has successfully stolen Cerebro out from under the X-Men and their plan to recruit has just become a great deal more serious.
A new cure.
The public has had access to the Cure for nearly two years and yet mutant-human relations continue to sour, forcing some to develop bolder ways of dealing with the fractured population. Bolivar Trask has stepped forward and the approved Sentinel program has already begun its beta testing of the Mk-I Sentinel units; dozens of mutants country-wide have been captured and placed under quarantine, avowing to the program’s success. Still, there are some who believe that there is a better way to police the mutant population without succumbing to murder and kidnapping.
School’s back in session.
Emma Frost resurfaced seemingly out of the blue, reaching out to her old Hellions; while many still felt the sting of her unexplained absence, there were some who could not resist the temptation of following her again. She wasted no time in taking up the mantle she had previously abandoned and the North Country Academy has been a slowly growing shadow to loom over Xavier’s Institute. Emma’s efforts to reconnect and run the school appear genuine, although she certainly has her fair share of detractors waiting for the punch-line. Aside from an aggressive recruitment campaign, it was recently revealed that Emma was responsible for orchestrating the theft of Cerebro. With the ‘mutant finder’ in hand, Emma faces few obstacles in wiping Xavier’s Institute off the map.
Footfalls in the distance are a sound of wartime.
But against whom does this war rage ?
